The San Joaquin Valley’s eight county offices of education and California State University, Fresno, have established the English Language Learner Leadership Academy (Academy) to train and support 24 to 30 educational leaders in public school districts throughout the Valley. The selection of participating sites will be based on two criteria: 1) Program Improvement K-12 school as designated by the California Department of Education with second language students failing to meet state- mandated standards for academic growth; 2) Potential for significant leadership by the administrator at those sites.
Deliverable
Academies that teach proven best practices in English learner curricula and intervention to key district leaders and provide continuous support through a mentoring and coaching network.
